As part of the grants competition announced by the Training Center on February 6, 2020, 30 NGOs funded at the decision of the Competition Committee, started the implementation of projects for the following directions:
21 grant project proposals submitted by NGOs funded at the first direction is aimed at the implementation of such important awareness-raising and training projects that ensure strengthening of human resources for political parties who, according to the legislation, will be authorized by the time of elections to appoint members and/or representatives at district election commissions and precinct election commissions.
Grant projects will be implemented throughout the country (Tbilisi, Kakheti, Kvemo Kartli, Shida Kartli, Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Samtskhe-Javakhetiი, Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti, Samegrelo and Zemo Svaneti, Guria and Ajara) from June 15 to September 14, 2020.
Grant project proposals submitted by 9 NGOs funded under the second direction envisage the initiative oriented at informing young voters around the following matters: state setup and the formation of elective bodies in Georgia; accountability between the electorate and elected institutions; guiding principles of a democratic electoral process; the protection of personal data of voters in the elections process; gender equality in elections; inclusive electoral environment; other matters directed towards promotion of elections and enhancing civic responsibility.
Funded grant projects will be implemented in 8 regions (Tbilisi, Kakheti, Kvemo Kartli, Shida Kartli, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Imereti, Guria and Adjara) during June 15 to August 14, 2020.
