The CEC Training Center continues proactive cooperation with the NGO sector and is carrying out a new initiative -- Gender and Elections, a two-stage training program. 55 representatives of 27 NGOs implementing grant projects in the area of the development of the electoral and civic culture as part of 2015 grants competition will undergo the training.
Main topics of the training program are related to the overview of the national and international legislative framework in the area of gender equality, historic overview of women’s participation in the electoral process and review of modern election systems, their comparative analysis and impact with respect to quotas. The training is oriented at effective learning outcome and is conducted using interactive and hands-on methodology, which requires experience sharing by the participants.
The proposed initiative aims to promote development of NGOs, including supporting the consideration of gender aspects in the course of implementing various educational programs, awareness-raising campaigns, programs or other activities by NGOs.
The training will be implemented in two stages, in Kvareli Eden Hotel, in Kvareli, on December 21-25, 2015. The training will be delivered by the employees of the Training Center and IFES. On December 25, after the training, in the first half of the day, summary presentations of grant projects funded under the grant competition announced on July 21, 2015 will be held.
