Today the Ceremony of awarding Young Participants of the Electoral Civic Education Program was held at the CEC. Tamar Zhvania, CEC Chair, Natia Zaalishvili, Training Center Director, Mari Tsereteli, Social Service Agency, Head of Guardianship-Care and Social Programs Department, and Zviad Berdzenishvili, National Director of SOS Children’s Village, awarded certificates and distributed gift packages to the youth.
As part of the training program designed by the Training Center, youth of the Tbilisi SOS Children’s Village learned about the history of elections in Georgia, the principles of electoral law, legislative framework, women participation in politics, the structure and the procedures of work of the election administration, procedures of voter registration/lists and polling procedures.
Today youth have also been briefed about the activities of various departments of the CEC and activities within the Election Administration.
20 participants were trained as part of the memorandum concluded on February 10, 2015 among the Central Election Commission of Georgia, the Center for Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Training, LEPL, Social Services Agency, LEPL and Association Georgia SOS Children’s Village, NCLE.
Similar program was launched on May 4, 2015 at the Kutaisi SOS Children’s Village and it will end on May 15.
