On July 23, 2014 Public Defender, an NGO, in partnership with the Institute for Social Survey and Analysis (ISSA) held a roundtable at the Holiday Inn Hotel. the purpose of the roundtable was the development of the mechanisms for the stimulaton of ethnic minorities involvement in the election process. The above-mentioned event was held under the project funded by the CEC Center of Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Trainings through the grant competition.
The participants were welcomed by Natia Zaalishvili, Head of the Center of Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Trainings. Ms. Zaalishvili spoke about the importance of cooperation between the CEC, the Center of Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Trainings and NGO’s, as well as the support to the involvement of ethnic minorities in the election process.
The roundtable was also attended by the representatives of NGOs working on the electoral and ethnic minority issues.
