Large-scale educational program was planned for the workers of the Penitentiary System and the prisoners with voting rights; joint project was initiated by the Central Election Commission and Ministry of Corrections and Legal Assistance of Georgia.
Training program is implemented by the Training Centre of CEC and Penitentiary and Probation Training Centre.
Project includes the three stages:
I Stage - Penitentiary system staff training (TOT)
II Stage - Accomplishment of the Training program by the Trainers for the Penitentiary System Workers
III Stage - Providing awareness of the voting prisoners.
Implementation of the project has begun on October 16. Within the trainings, participants were introduced the issues of election processes at Penitentiary Institutions, the rule of placement of agitation materials and informing of the voting prisoners, discussing of the polling procedures in details. In the format of practical teaching film prepared Training Center "Polling Day Procedures" was screened as well.
Training Center of CEC and Penitentiary and Probation Training Centre provided the participants with manuals.
For the purposes of the full accomplishment of the voting rights of the prisoners, relevant informational spreadsheets were prepared for rising of their awareness and were delivered to the administrations of the penitentiary institutions for spreading.
