The Centre for Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Training (Training Centre) successfully implemented its authorial study program in Election Law across 9 partner universities during the spring semester of 2026.

The course was completed by 477 III-IV grade undergraduate students enrolled in law, political and social science Bachelor's program, including 28 students from Akhaltsikhe, a region with a compact ethnic minority population.

The program is implemented within the framework of the Electoral Civic Education Project of the CEC and the Training Centre. It aims to raise electoral awareness among youth, foster a responsible attitude toward democratic processes, and develop the practical skills and knowledge essential for an informed, critical-thinking, and active citizen.

As part of the syllabus developed by the Training Centre, students got acquainted with the national legal regulations governing elections, international standards and practices for election administration, mechanisms for information support and media coverage of the electoral process, election modernization through electronic technologies, as well as Georgia's election administration system and the services available to voters.

The program was carried out across the following partner institutions: Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Ilia State University, Caucasus International University, Georgian International University (GIU), East European University, Gori State University, Samtskhe-Javakheti State University, Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University, and the Batumi Branch of Grigol Robakidze University.

Participants offered positive feedback on the course, emphasizing that the program significantly contributes to deepening specialized knowledge in election law while reinforcing democratic values, electoral culture, critical thinking, and civic responsibility.

The CEC and the Training Centre have been implementing the project in partner universities across Tbilisi and Georgia’s regions since 2010. Over this period, more than 10,000 students have completed the program, demonstrating its long-term sustainability and effectiveness in enhancing youth electoral education.
