Implementation of the Autumn Semester Training Program in the Field of Electoral Law Was Launched at Partner Universities

The CEC and the Training Centre continue active cooperation with higher educational institutions of Georgia. At this stage, the Training Centre will implement the authorial program developed in the field of electoral law at 7 partner universities.

In the Autumn semester of the 2025-2026 academic year, the project will include the following universities: Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Ilia State University, Grigol Robakidze University, Caucasus International University, Gori State University, Samtskhe-Javakheti State University and Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.

The educational process is led by lecturers trained by the Training Centre. Students of the bachelor's program of the Faculty of Law, Social Sciences and Journalism will get acquainted with the following issues: Georgian electoral legislative framework and international standards; guiding principles for the conduct of democratic elections; electoral systems and election management bodies - a review of international practice; electoral state bodies and domestic election regulations in Georgia; structure and working manner of the Georgian election administration; formation of voter lists; election services offered to voters; inclusive electoral environment; other election stakeholders and their legal status; election campaign (agitation); election coverage; electronic elections; voting procedures; summarising of voting and election results; election disputes; referendum and plebiscite.

The goal of the program is to train specialists with competencies relevant to modern requirements and, in general, to strengthen the electoral culture among young people, which reflects the strategic priorities of the Election Administration.

In the spring semester of 2025, 348 students from 8 universities participated in the program. The CEC and the Training Centre have been implementing the training project since 2010, at partner higher educational institutions operating in Tbilisi and the regions. about 9,400 students have completed the program to date.
