During the preparatory phase for the October 4, 2025 elections, the CEC Legal Department and Training Centre retrained lawyers of District Election Commissions (DEC).
This activity reflects the strategic priority of the Election Administration and aims to strengthen the administrative capacity of DECs’ related to election disputes and sharing uniform practices.
Giorgi Santuriani, Head of the CEC Office/Legal Department, and Ioseb Lomashvili, Head of the Legal Maintenance Division, introduced the participants of the meeting in detail to the legislative amendments, discussed the uniform practice of conducting election disputes, and online services related to election disputes.
The training also included a practical learning component. David Makaridze, a representative of the Training Center's Training Programs’ Department, discussed the methodology for resolving election disputes with lawyers from DECs, using the example of case study.
The program was implemented in a remote format through the period of September 18-20. 64 lawyers from DECs participated in it.
