In order to ensure the safe conduct of October 4, 2025 elections, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Giorgi Kalandarishvili, and the Minister of Internal Affairs, Geka Geladze, signed a memorandum of cooperation on September 2, within the framework of which the retraining of police officers was identified as one of the important directions.
Considering the initiated issue, a large-scale informational-study project for representatives of law enforcement agencies was planned in the format of fruitful cooperation between the LEPL Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Training Centre and the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The program began on September 8 and will be held in several streams daily until September 12. The course will be implemented by employees of the Training Centre and the CEC Legal Department.
In order to facilitate the involvement of the maximum number of police officers, training sessions will be conducted via distance learning method. The following important issues will be discussed within the framework of the specialized program "Elections and Security": effective communication between the Election Administration and law enforcement agencies to ensure a safe and peaceful election environment; risk identification, prevention and response mechanisms to ensure the security of the electoral process in the run-up to and on polling day.
The partnership between the Training Centre and the MIA Academy is based on many years of cooperation and serves the goal of facilitating the conduct of elections in a free, peaceful environment.
