The CEC and the Training Centre continue an informational-training campaign to promote the involvement of young people in the election process. This time, the meeting was held in N203 Tbilisi Public School, an institution specializing in the education of deaf and hearing-impaired children.
In the opening part of the meeting, CEC Deputy Chairman Giorgi Sharabidze and Training Centre Director Natia Zaalishvili briefed about the importance of the role of youth involvement in the election process and discussed the practical aspects of the activities of Election Administration with students of the graduating class (XI-XII classes), which are related to the services offered to voters and the innovations in the use of technologies in the election process.
The second part of the meeting was devoted to the seminar "Elections and Young Voters", within the framework of which the representative of the Training Centre introduced the history of elections in Georgia, the standards of conducting democratic elections, the guarantees of exercising the voter's right to vote, the importance of an inclusive election environment and supporting conditions. For more visibility, students were directly involved in a voting simulation using election technology.
The current information campaign is aimed at promoting the civic awareness of young voters and activating the part that will participate in the elections for the first time.
