From May 8, 2024, the CEC and the Training Centre in 64 municipalities will implement the informational-training project "Election Administrator Courses - for Potential Head Officials and Members of Precinct Election Commissions".
The mentioned initiative echoes the recommendations reflected in the reports of the observing organizations and, in accordance with the electoral reform, aims to train the potential personnel resources of the Precinct Election Commissions on election technological innovations.
With the concept updated by the training center, the "election administrator courses" will be held in two profile directions:
Participants, in accordance with profile directions, will receive specialized knowledge on the following main issues: Modernization trends of the October 2024 elections of the Parliament of Georgia; use of electronic technologies in the voting process; realization of the voter's electoral right, secrecy and protection during the voting process; The importance of an inclusive election environment and the promotion of independent participation of disabled voters in the voting process using election machines.
The program is based on a practical training component, participants will manage voter verification machines, special electronic vote counting machines and tablet computers for transmitting preliminary voting results in a training/test mode.
Citizens of Georgia who have completed the relevant registration remotely or in the District Election Commissions in the period from April 15 to 22, 2024 will participate in the training program. According to the registration results for the course, which is intended for potential members of Precinct Election Commissions - 13812 participants were registered, and in the course, which is developed for potential head officals of Precinct Election Commissions - 6861 participants.
169 trainers trained by the Training Centre will conduct the courses.
