The certification exams for the Precinct Election Commission (PEC) head officials has been completed.
Exam centers opened in 8 municipalities served the citizens. Those wishing to take the exam had the opportunity to choose an exam center operating in one of the listed municipalities: Telavi, Bolnisi, Marneuli, Gardabani, Tetritskaro, Akhaltsikhe, Akhalkalaki, Ninotsminda.
For the purposes of promoting an inclusive election environment, the Training Centre provided translation of the exam tests into languages understandable to ethnic minorities living in Georgia. The exam was held in Georgian-Armenian-Azerbaijani languages.
Out of a total of 1689 citizens registered for the exam, 1266 examinees appeared in the exam centers. According to the results of passing the exam, 1245 persons received the certificate of PEC members (536 - women; 709 - man). The examination process was monitored by a local non-governmental organization: International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy - with 8 observers.
In the period from January 29 to February 5 of this year, the Center for Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Training conducted the certification exams for the Precinct Election Commission head officials in cooperation with the Department of Information Technology of Central Election Commission of Georgia.
From February 19, it is planned to hold certification exams for the members of precinct election commission (registration rules and other detailed information about the exam can be found at the link).
