On December 7, 2023, the certification exams of election administration officials were completed. The goal of certification is to determine the knowledge of electoral legislation and general skills of citizens of Georgia, in order to further facilitate the selection of highly qualified election administration officials.
This year, for the first time, the territorial area of conducting the mentioned exams has increased and citizens were served by 13 exam centers opened in 12 municipalities. Those wishing to take the exam had the opportunity to choose an exam center operating in one of the listed municipalities: Tbilisi (2 locations), Telavi, Rustavi, Mtskheta, Gori, Akhaltsikhe, Tkibuli, Kutaisi, Zestafoni, Ozurgeti, Senaki or Batumi.
Out of 1773 citizens registered, 1252 examinees appeared in the exam center. According to the results of passing the exam, 1000 persons (80%) received the certificate (women – 741; men - 259). The certification exams of election administration officials were held through the period of December 4-7, this year, by the LEPL Centre for Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Training with Electoral Information Technology Department of Central Election Commission of Georgia.
