Election Administration representative participated in the training on “electoral Dispute Resolution a- Domestic and International Standards”. The CEC Chairperson Giorgi Kalandarishvili and Markus Adelsbach, Head of the Council of Europe’s Election and Participatory Democracy Division delivered opening remarks at the training. Georgi Kalandarishvili underlined that studying, discussing and considering the both local and international experiences and practices are important and contributes to the administration of the election process at a high professional level.
The training was conducted by Council of Europe expert Maia Vachadze based on the methodological guideline "Electoral Dispute Resolution: Toolkit for Strengthening Electoral Jurisprudence" developed within the framework of the Council of Europe’s electoral support project and the Venice Commission. Training participants discussed the following issues: legal, operational and technical standards of e- voting, recommendations on e-voting, standards developed by the council of Europe, code of good practice in electoral matters by the Venice Commission, Review of electoral complaints - domestic and international standards, overview of the European Court of Human Rights case law on electoral complaints, overview of practices of the Constitutional Court of Georgia and common courts of Georgia and other related issues.
The members of the CEC and District Election Commissions, the employees of the legal and electoral process management departments of the CEC along with the representative of the Center For Electoral Systems Development, Reforms And Training (CEC Training Center) of took part in the training. The training was held within the framework of the Council of Europe project "Supporting the transparency, inclusiveness and credibility of election practices and processes in Georgia".
