The Training Centre has launched the training of Election Administration trainers for the October 1st, 2023 Extraordinary and By-Elections. After the training course, the trainers will conduct intensive training programs for the precinct election commissions’ members, which aims at professional development of election administrators and promotion of qualified services for voters during the voting process.
As is known, on October 1st, the voters will elect the majoritarian member of Parliament of Gori-Kaspi and the mayor of Gurjaani. Voting in 103 out of 133 election precincts created for the elections will be conducted using special electronic voter verification and vote counting machines, at 30 polling stations, elections will be held without the use of electronic means. Focusing on the mentioned issues and considering the procedural specifics of voting, the Training Centre has developed relevant training programs for precinct election commissions.
Giorgi Javakhishvili the Central Election Commission Secretary and Natia Zaalishvili, Director of the Training Center made opening remarks at the ToT. They talked about the importance of professional training for the precinct election commissions’ members for the effective implementation of the election process; attention was drawn to procedural innovations related to the use of electronic technologies and organizational/logistical issues of the voting process.
The Director of the Training Centre introduced the participants of the meeting in detail to the concepts developed for the trainings of the precinct election commissions’ members, according to which the trainings will be conducted in four stages, three stages are devoted to intensive training of head officials of precinct election commissions, other members of precinct election commissions will undergo practical training in two stages as follows:

it is also planned to hold an additional stage, in which the replaced members of the precinct election commission and those members who could not attend the previous training stage will participate.
Training Centre launched the ToT on August 24 and will implement through the period of August 31, 40 trainers will pass the course. Detailed schedules of procediral trainings for the precinct election commission members will be published on the websites of the CEC and the Training Centre before the start of the trainings.
