In order to promote the involvement of young people in election processes, the Central Election Commission (CEC) continues to hold meetings with young people. CEC Chairman Giorgi Kalandarishvili met with students of various public schools today and spoke about the role of elections in the country's democratic development and the introduction of electronic technologies in the election process.
"The activation of young people and their involvement is very important not only for the election process, but also for the future democratic development of the country in general. School graduating students who attended today's meeting will make their first choice in the 2024 elections, while today's initiative will introduce technologies in the election process on a large scale," said Giorgi Kalandarishvili during the meeting with the youth.
Nino Kikalishvili and Tsotne Zabakhidze, trainers of the CEC Training Centre, provided information to the youth about the experience of the Election Administration of Georgia and other countries, as well as the pilot projects already implemented by the administration in the direction of introducing electronic technologies. Young people also learned in detail and tested in practice the operation of electronic election technologies - verification, voting and counting machines.
The students' visit to the CEC was carried out on the initiative of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University students within the framework of the "Political Education School" project.
