From July 25, the Central Election Commission (CEC) launches educational election project “Youth Camps”. Youth aged 21-29 will undergo four day learning course and receive knowledge on electoral issues.
Participants of youth camp will have an opportunity to deepen their knowledge in democratic principles, electoral systems, electoral procedures, election history, models of election administration, inclusive electoral environment, guiding principles of the democratic electoral processes (including the principle of the secrecy of the ballot), electronic means of voting, gender and elections, absenteeism, election security, protection of personal data, media communication, disinformation, culture of debates and other important issues.
Election Administration (EA) trainers and Training Centre representatives along with invited experts will lead the learning course. Along with the formal side of learning, various cultural/intellectual activities are also planned for the project.
“Youth Camps” will be conducted in Bakuriani. Accommodation, meals and transportation will be provided by the Central Election Commission.
Applicants shall be registered through the special electronic program konkursi@cec.gov.ge during July 11 – 18 (including the working days and weekends). In order to take the course, alongside the completed application, candidates should send the photocopy of identification documents (ID Card, Passport). Gender balance will be considered in the selection process of participants.

The CEC implements the project since 2020, which aims to increase popularization of elections, participants’ interest towards the electoral processes, as well as, raise youth awareness on civil rights and universally recognized principles.
