Training of Trainers (ToT) is underway at election administration (EA). The second phase of re-training of trainers of EA for 2 October 2021 municipal elections has launched today.
Participants will undergo a three-day training course then they will share the information gained from training with about 63 000 members of precinct election commissions (PECs).
Giorgi Kalandarishvili, Chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC), and Natia Zaalishvili, Director of Electoral Systems, Reforms and Training Centre (Training Centre) opened the second phase of ToT. As Giorgi Kalandarishvili said to the participants of the training course, their role in holding elections at a high level is very important.
“Total of 202 trainers will be retrained. This training is an important component of the electoral process at large. These persons should retrain about 63 000 election administrators – members of the PECs, enhance and strengthen their capacity so that on October 2nd on E-day, we are well-prepared to meet voters and able to hold elections at a high level in the country once again," Giorgi Kalandarishvili noted.
“From August 25 to September 27, 202 trainers trained as part of ToT will conduct intensive training for members of the PECs. Such training is highly important as it aims to increase the efficacy of PECs’ work once again. By focusing on given aspects, PEC members will undergo intensive training on issues related to their pre-election and E-day activities. It will further improve the service to be provided to voters and other stakeholders on Election Day and, of course, contribute to successful and well-administered elections in a safe environment," Natia Zaalishvili said.
Training of trainers was launched on 11th of August and will continue until 21st of August.
