Second Stage Trainings for PECs Members for October 31, 2020 Elections

According to the PECs Members Training Concept developed by the Training Centre, for October 31, 2020 Parliamentary Elections/Sakrebulo By-elections/Extraordinary Mayoral Elections of Georgia, the second stage trainings will be held through the period October 7 - 12, 2020

At this stage, it is envisaged to train the head officials of PECs with the profile program, in which participants will get aquatinted with the following key issues:

  • organizational functions of the PEC head officials in the process of opening the polling station;
  • supervisory functions of PEC head officials during the voting process and response;
  • organizational functions of PEC head officials in the process of closing the polling station;
  • supervisory functions of PEC head officials in the counting process and response;
  • competence of the PEC head officials to draw up a summary protocol of the voting results and ensure publicity;
  • competence of the PEC head officials in the process of submitting election documentation to the DEC;
  • competence of the PEC regarding the voter lists (including legislative novelty - the issue of inclusion of voters in the special list of the adapted polling station);
  • measures to be taken to ensure compliance with the sanitary-hygienic requirements of PEC building to prevent the spread of New Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) infection (COVID-19)
  • electoral security.

In order to promote the enhancement of procedural knowledge and development of practical skills of PECs head officials, the training program will be delivered using a practical teaching methodology.

1st stage trainings for PECs members was held through the period of September 24 – 29, 2020. 32 154 members of 3657 PECs took part in the trainings (among them women - 24 986, men - 7 168).
