The Central Election Commission (CEC) adopted the 2020-2023 Strategic Plan of Election Administration (EA) of Georgia and the 2020 Action Plan.
The four-year strategic plan contains five strategic priorities:
A special working group established by the order of the CEC Chairperson prepared the document based on the methodology developed by the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES). The document was elaborated on the basis of analyzing the results of the previous strategic plan, expectations of electoral stakeholders as well as recommendations of international organizations and existing challenges. In the process of developing the strategy, the group actively cooperated with the CEC members, the structural units of the staff, the District Election Commissions and the CEC Training Centre; Active consultations with the civil sector were also held.
As CEC Chairperson stated at the December 26 meeting (when the above-mentioned document was approved), members of the special group actively worked to create comprehensive documents for ensuring effective work of Election Administration and thanked the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) for their active engagement in this process.
