The Training Center carried out an authoring Electoral Law Program at 8 universities during 2018-2019 spring semester. The program was implemented as part of the MOU with partner universities.
362 students (214 - women; 148 – men) from Gori State Teaching University, Samtskhe-Javakheti State University, Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University, Akaki Tsereteli State University, Grigol Robakidze University, Ilia State University and Caucasus International University took the semestrial course. As part of the program, bachelor’s students of Law, Political and Social Sciences Faculty and Journalism Faculty acquired detailed knowledge of national regulations on elections and reviewed international electoral practice. At the end of the accredited educational program, through June 30, 2019, students passed final exams.
Notably, students of law faculty took part in simulated trials conducted at six universities as part of the program. This component is a novelty in the curriculum and is aimed at the enhancement of practical skills, along with the theoretical knowledge.
Another stage of the electoral law training program will commence from September, during the Autumn semester, 2019-2020. 5,360 students took the above-mentioned program from 2010 to date.
