Attendance Statistics of PEC Members at the 2nd Stage Trainings for October 28, 2018 Elections

According to the Trainings Concept developed by the Training Center for the President of Georgia October 28, 2018 Elections, 2nd stage trainings were held from October 3 through October 11, for the members (9 members per PEC) of PECs.

The specialized training program covered the following key topics:

  • Opening a polling station and distribution of functions among PEC members via the casting lots;
  • Activities of PEC members during the voting process to ensure that voters exercise their suffrage;
  • Protection of personal data of voters;
  • Rights of individuals authorized to be present at the polling station;
  • Activities of PEC members in the process of closing election precincts and in the counting of votes;
  • Summarizing voting results at PECs.

To promote enhancement of procedural knowledge of members of election commissions, the training was held via a combined methodology. This included role plays by participants to increase their practical skills. Practical training method was also used to acquaint PEC members with the matters of PWD voters participation in elections, via showing a video clip and providing relevant guidance.

Observers from 2 international observer oganizations and 7 local observer organizations (total – 67 observers) attended the trainings:

  • The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR);
  • National Dmocratic Institute (NDI);
  • Public Movement Multinational Georgia;
  • International Center for Democratic Initiatives;
  • International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy (ISFED);
  • Youth Center Our Generation 1921;
  • Workers and Students Union for Professional Education and Qualified Personnel Training;
  • Georgia's Democratic Principles and Human Rights Union;
  • Institutional Development and Monitoring Center.

25355 members of 3637 PECs took 2nd stage trainings, among them 19319 - female, 6036 - male. Follow the Link for detailed statistics.
