19 NGOs funded under the grant competition announced on February 3, 2017, by the CEC Training Centre finished the implementation of training projects for the Political Parties in all regions of Georgia, aimed at supporting the Enhancement of Electoral Capacity of Political Parties for the 2017 Municipal Elections.

Within the framework of the training programs, the participants were introduced to such important topics, as:

• international electoral standards;
• current electoral system for local self-government elections in Georgia;
• electoral registration of stakeholders, their rights and obligations during the elections process and electoral ethics;
• pre-election campaign/agitation and restrictions;
• conflict management and international standards for resolving electoral disputes;
• communication, teamwork and accountability;
• Inclusive elections (involvement of vulnerable groups).

In the course of implementing grant projects, the Training Center, as part of its contribution, trained representatives of political parties in the following modules: electoral cycle and legislative updates, activities of district and presinct election commissions, and polling day procedures, also the Training Center supported the training programs by providing sign language translation.

2257 representatives of 42 political parties (20 qualified and 22 non-qualified political parties) took part in the training course.
