“Electoral Development School” Launches Admission of Applicants

CEC and The Training Centre launch admission of applicants for the project “Electoral Development School”. The project aims at promoting elections through increasing civic participation and promoting elections among youth. Young people aged to 18-24 will be able to undergo learning course and receive relevant knowledge on electoral issues. The course will be conducted on July 17 - 28.

After the successful implementation in 2015 and 2016, this year the number of electoral development schools has been increased. The learning course will be implemented in 23 municipalities: Gurjaani, Sighnaghi, Telavi, Akhmeta, Rustavi, Gardabani, Marneuli, Dusheti, Gori, Akhalgori (Tserovani, IDPs settlement), Borjomi, Akhaltsikhe, Ambrolauri, Sachkhere, Zestaphoni, Kutaisi, Samtredia, Ozurgeti, Senaki, Zugdidi, Poti, Batumi and Kobuleti.

The training program of the “Electoral Development School” covers the following topics: election systems, election administration, democratic electoral principles, elective bodies in Georgia, electoral stakeholders, gender equality, transparency and accessibility of elections.

The registration will be opened from 5 until 12 July. Applicants should complete the application form (available in Georgian) and submit to any District Election Commission. Applicants shall provide identification document while submitting the application.

The project is being implemented by the support of Council of Europe (CoE) and International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES).
