19 NGOs funded at the decision of the Competition Committee under the Grant Competition announced on February 3, 2017, started implementing the training course for the representatives of political parties. The goal of the training is to promote the development of electoral capacity of political parties for the 2017 Local Self Government Representative and Executive Bodies Elections.

Funded grant project proposals submitted by NGOs for the facilitation of the development of electoral capacity of political parties and promoting competitive political environment envisage trainings of representatives of political parties on a variety of important issues, including:

  • international electoral standards;
  • current electoral system for local self-government elections in Georgia;
  • electoral registration of stakeholders, their rights and obligations during the elections process and electoral ethics;
  • pre-election campaign/agitation and restrictions;
  • conflict management and international standards for resolving electoral disputes;
  • communication, teamwork and accountability;
  • inclusive elections (involvement of vulnerable groups).

In the course of implementing grant projects, the Training Center, as part of its contribution, will train representatives of political parties in the following modules: electoral cycle and legislative updates,  activities of district and presinct election commissions, and polling day procedures.

Funded grant projects will be implemented from May 1 through August 1, 2017 and will cover all regions of Georgia.

See the schedule of training courses (available in Georgian).
