In July 7 of 2010, at 12 o’clock, Central Election Commission, Center of Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Trainings, Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and UNDP signed the memorandum of understanding.
Under this Memorandum, project aims to rise up election culture among pupils and conduct self-government elections objectively and legally at schools.
Eight towns participate at school (Gurjaani, Marneuli, Rustavi, Gori, Khashuri, Akhaltsikhe, Zugdidi, Kutaisi, Batumi) 24 Public School, including one Azrbaijani (#3 of Marneuli) and one Armenian (#3 Akhaltsikhe) Schools.
“For Self-Government Elections of Pupils” – instruction was prepared within this project. Instruction includes easy election procedures and advices for election organizers, for making elections just and understandable for pupils.
Pursuant to the said instruction, Center prepared facilitators, which provided trainings for civil education teachers, pupils and relevant PEC members.
In September 15, in 25th Public School of Rustavi project presentation was held; CEC, LEPL Center of Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Trainings, Ministry of Education and Science and UNDP took part in presentation.
For motivation of pupils, the best 16 pupils will be revealed after the end of the project (2 pupil for each election station) and they will pass three months practice in relevant DECs.
