From July 25 through August 5, 2016, at twenty municipalities a new stage of the educational project – Electoral Development School will be implemented.
Today, on July 4, in Gudauri, the CEC and the CEC Training Center launched the training of the trainers (ToT) involved in the project, to train 46 trainers. The ToT will end on July 7.
Prior to the commencement of the training, Giorgi Sharabidze, Deputy Chair, CEC and Giorgi Javakhishvili, CEC Secretary, and Natia Zaalishvili, Head, CEC Training Center, welcomed the participants.
Trained trainers, who are members of district election commissions and Election Administration, will deliver trainings at the electoral development schools.
Electoral systems, electoral administration, democratic principles, elective bodies in Georgia, electoral stakeholders, transparency and accessibility of elections, gender equality – are among the topics that 18-25 years of age youth, participants of the Electoral Development School will learn.
The Project is aimed at the facilitation of civic engagement and promotion of elections among youth.
The CEC and the Training Center implement the ToT Project in cooperation with IFES.
