III Stage of the Trainings for the Members of Precinct Election Commissions for Parliamentary By-Elections

The CEC Training Center continues trainings for the members of Precinct Election Commissions for April 2, 2022 By-Elections.

In accordance with the training concept, III stage trainings for the PECs members, planned for the Parliamentary By-Elections will take place through the period of March 13 – 14. This stage is dedicated to the profile re-training of PEC members appointed by the parties in PECs operating in N20 Rustavi DEC and N21 Gardabani DEC.

As part of the intensive training program, participants will receive information on the following key issues within their competence:

  • performing the functions assigned by casting of lots to the members of the PEC on the polling day, in compliance with the epidemiological protocol (taking into consideration the training target group, the focus will be on the functions of flow regulator, supervisor of ballot box and transporter of mobile ballot box);
  • overview of voters’ registrar commission member function
  • vote counting process (including the grounds for invalidity of ballot papers; video recording of the vote counting process; obligations of the PEC members regarding the summary protocol of the voting results of PEC).

Trainers trained by the Training Centre will deliver training based on practical learning, it is provided to conduct episodic staging of polling process and perform other thematic exercises.

The detailed schedule of the PECs’ members III stage training for Parliamentary By-Elections is available at the link (in Georgian). In case of any changes, the information will be reflected immediately.

The training course will be held with a different program for Batumi Sakrebulo By-Elections, where the PEC members will be re-trained on the use of electronic technologies in the voting process. This schedule will be published through the Training Centre webpage in stages.

II stage trainings for PEC members were conducted through the period of March 10 - 11, 2022. 326 members of 117 PECs participated in it. detailed statistic is available at the link.
