The CEC and the Training Centre held an informational meeting with the representative of media for October 31, 2020 Elections.

During the meeting, the representatives of the Training Centre and CEC introduced participants with the amendments to the electoral legislation and discussed various important issues, such as:

• regulations related to holding elections under pandemic;
• role and powers of media in polling process;
• regulations related to photo/video shooting on polling day (including regulations related to ensure protection of voters’ personal data and secrecy of vote during the polling process);
• role of media and other stakeholders in ensuring election security.

Invited expert from International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) familiarized the participants of the meeting with the issues related to disinformation and hate speech.

25 representatives of various media sources (among them 20 women and 5 men) participated in the informational meeting held on October 21, 2020. The representatives of long-term observer missions from National Democratic Institute (NDI) and Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR) also attended the meeting
