The "Electoral Development School" starts receiving applicants. Young people at age 18-24 can undertake a training course regarding electoral topics and receive relevant knowledge. The training course will be conducted from July 15 to July 26.

The training program of "Electoral Development School” contains the following issues: electoral systems, election administration, Elections of Constituent Assembly 1919, democratic electoral principles, elected bodies in Georgia, electoral stakeholders, transparency and accessibility of elections, gender equality and so forth.

Citizen engagement will be increased through this project, and elections promoted among the youth. The "Electoral Development School” aims also to expand and cover whole Georgia which enables election administration representatives to share their professional experience with many more young people.

Following the successful implementation of project in 2015-2018, this year the number of schools has increased; the training will be held in Tbilisi and 25 municipalities (Gurjaani, Sighnaghi, Telavi, Akhmeta, Rustavi, Gardabani, Marneuli, Dusheti, Akhalgori, (Tserovani, IDPs settlement), Gori, Khashuri, Borjomi, Akhaltsikhe, Ambrolauri, Sachkhere, Zestaponi, Samtredia, Khoni, Kutaisi, Ozurgeti, Senaki, Zugdidi, Poti, Batumi and Kobuleti).

An applicant shall fill in the application form (available in Georgian) and submit it to any district election commission (address of District Election Commissions) from July 4 to July 11. The applicant shall have an ID card upon submission of documents.

The project is being implemented with the support of the Council of Europe (CoE) and the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES).
