To ensure informed electoral environment, on October 23 the CEC Training Center held informational meeting with representatives of parties/initiative groups’ and presidential candidates with electoral registration.

Natia Zaalishvili, Training Center Director opened the event. She underscored the importance of every electoral stakeholder in ensuring that elections are held in a free and secure environment.

Representatives of the Training Center and the CEC Legal Department acquainted participants with electoral legislation updates and covered various important topics, among them:

• Election day and managing electoral operations;
• Rights of electoral stakeholders;
• Basis and technique for drawing up election day application/complaint;
• Protection of voters’ personal data;
• Summarizing voting results.

As part of the meeting, the participants were also acquainted with legislative mechanisms for ensuring safe electoral environment and international electoral security standards. Representatives of IFES, the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Training Center provided information and shared experience around the above-mentioned topics.

Next informational meetings with representatives of electoral subjects will be held on October 24-25 with IFES support, at IFES Office.
