In order to facilitate the realization of voting rights of defendants and convicts having the right to vote, on October 15-16, 2018 the CEC Training Center, in cooperation with the Training Center for Penitentiary and Probation System, delivered awareness-raising and training course for the representatives of the Penitentiary System.

The training covered important issues, among them: organize election processes at detention and penitentiary facilities, the rule of posting agitation materials and informing accused, convicts who have the right to vote, procedures of voting at polling stations and via a mobile ballot box.

To ensure availability of information on the above-mentioned topics, meeting participants will subsequently provide guidance to other employees of penitentiary institutions.

Training participants received manuals (available in georgian) developed by the CEC Training Center and the Training Center for Penitentiary and Probation System Employees.
