On September 30, 2015, the Central Election Commission of Ge3orgia, the Ministry of Education and Sciences of Georgia and the Center of Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Training have concluded a memorandum of Cooperation. Heads of these organizations signed the mentioned document.
Tamar Zhvania, CEC Chair and Tamar Sanikidze, the Minister spoke about the importance of enhancing civic awareness and electoral culture of public school students. While Natia Zaalishvili, the Training Center Director presented to the audience awareness-raising and instructional project Elections and Young Voters, which will be implemented in stages for 11-12th grade students of public schools.
At the first stage, the Training Center will implement the pilot of the above-mentioned training course in public schools in ethnic minority regions and high mountainous regions.
The above-mentioned initiative is aimed at promoting raising civic responsibility of youth and their participation in public and political life as active citizens.
The event was held at the Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel and was attended by the representatives of state institutions, local NGOs and international organizations.
