Delegation of the Central Election Commission of Georgia (CEC) participated in the 10th International Electoral Symposium, organized by International Center for Parliamentary Studies (ICPS) in Jamaica. Tamar Zhvania, the CEC Chairperson along with the Director of the CEC training Center Natia Zaalishvili, commission members – David Gurgenidze and Dimitri Javakhadze, and Head of Public Relations Department Keteven Dangadze attended the electoral Symposium.
At the meeting Ms. Zhvania, delivered the presentation on voter education and media relations. She talked about the activities to be implemented with the Training Centre about voters’ civic education and media relations. The CEC Chairperson underlined a new pilot project of the CEC – electoral development schools, which will be implemented by the election administration in the nearest future.
In the framework of the symposium, election officials shared their experiences on electoral processes and administration. The participants discussed the challenges of the election administrations of different countries. Vendor companies working on electoral issues presented the information on new technologies and the perspectives for their utilization in electoral processes.
The International Electoral Symposium held on May 26-29 in Montego Bay, Jamaica, was organized by the International Center for Parliamentary Studies (ICPS) in cooperation with Election Administration of Jamaica.
