For the 2014 Local Self-Government Elections the CEC of Georgia and the Center of Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Trainings is holding the training for the representatives of those NGOs who had been involved in the election process as observers, based on the data of last elections.
The training program envisages awareness raising of NGOs, including support to effectively perform observer function.
The representatives of the Center of Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Trainings and the CEC Legal Department familiarized training participants with legislative updates, polling day procedures and legal status of observers, as well as the issues related to electoral disputes and application/complaints.
10 NGOs participated in the training: Free Choice, New Generation – for Democratic Georgia, International Network for Civic Development, The Center for Civil Society and Democracy Development, Former Political Prisoners for Human Rights, International Observatory of Lawyers and Attorneys, Georgia Youth Development Union, Electoral Environment Development Center, Young Lawyers Association, the Center for Development and Democracy (CDD).
The Training was held at 12:00 on April 27, 2014 (Hotel Holiday Inn, # 1, May 26 Square, Tbilisi).
