For these purposes, teachers were provided with additional informational resources specially prepared by the Training Centre, which include the election topics for discussion, reading materials for expanding the topic, practical exercises and recommendations on the methodology for conducting them. In addition, the following important issues were discussed with the participants of the meetings: importance of voters’ role and aspects of political culture; principles and international standards for conducting democratic elections; trends in the modernization of elections and the use of electronic technologies in the voting process; realization of voters' suffrage; secrecy and security during the voting process; inclusive electoral environment; election services offered to voters by the Election Administration of Georgia.
This year, the Training Centre held informational meetings in 23 municipalities (Tbilisi, Kvareli, Gurjaani, Kaspi, Tianeti, Kareli, Borjomi, Aspindza, Gardabani, Marneuli, Tetritskaro, Bolnisi, Dmanisi, Terjola, Vani, Samtredia, Chiatura, Kharagauli, Khelvachauri, Lanchkhuti, Tsalenjikha, Martvili, Senaki), including 5 municipalities densely populated by the ethnic minorities (Gardabani, Marneuli, Tetritskaro, Bolnisi, Dmanisi). 510 civic education teachers (407 women; 103 men) from 478 public schools participated in the meetings, among them, 92 teachers (71 women; 21 men) from 69 public schools located in five municipalities densely populated by the ethnic minorities.
