For the Elections of October 26, 2024, the cycle of trainings for the members of Precinct Election Commissions (PEC) continues.
In accordance with the concept developed by the Training Centre, an additional stage of trainings was held in the period of October 5-7, which was devoted to the training of PECs’ head officials and members who did not attend the I and/or II stage of the trainings, or were changed during the course. From October 8, the III stage of trainings for the PECs’ members starts.
Within the framework of profile training programs, head officials of election commissions (commission chairman, deputy chairman) and members, based on the principle of teamwork, will strengthen their skills in managing polling processes and deepen their practical knowledge of the guiding standards, the uniform fulfillment of which is essential to ensure the provision of qualified service to voters. Significant emphasis will be placed on aspects of supporting an inclusive electoral environment.
During the training process, among others, attention will be focused on the issues of identifying procedural risks on the E-Day, the mechanisms of response to them by the PEC and the techniques of performing the relevant functions in this regard. In addition, in the study-doing format, the participants will perform episodic stagings - sorting, counting and sealing of ballot papers by counters. In this part, the regulation adopted at the session of the CEC on October 5, 2024, according to which the manner of filling out the ballot paper and issues of validity/invalidity of the ballot papers were clarified for electronic elections will be discussed in detail.
The training programs developed by the Training Centre for the next elections of the Parliamentary Elections of Georgia and the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, as well as for the by-elections of the Samtredia and Chokhatauri Municipal Councils, will be conducted considering the procedural specifics.
