A workshop with representatives from the Agency for State Care and Assistance for the (Statutory) Victims of Human Trafficking was held at the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia (Agency).
During the meeting, the topic of discussion was the activity envisaged by the 2024 Action Plan of the Election Administration - ‘Conducting Learning Course on Participation of Beneficiaries of Support in Voting for Representatives of Non-governmental Organizations, Specializing in Issues of Beneficiaries of Support.
Representatives of the CEC and the Center of Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Trainings (Training Center) provided the meeting participants with information regarding the ongoing efforts of the Election Administration (EA) of Georgia in introducing electronic voting technologies. Also, they discussed the delivery of information to the institutions operating under the Agency, the organizations working on the issues of persons with disabilities (PWD) and beneficiaries of support. Delivery of information will be implemented first time by the CEC as per the roadmap for participation, created for beneficiaries of support in the understandable, easy-read format. The parties agreed that the organization of the information campaign will be planned according to the relevant information delivered by the Agency.
The workshop took place on April 12 and had attendance of head persons of the CEC structural units and the Training Center. It is noteworthy that the Election Administration of Georgia is conducting the information campaign first time for specifically non-governmental organizations working on the PWD issues and beneficiaries of support.
