The CEC and the Training Centre is implementing the information-training course "Elections and Young Voters" in 353 public schools located in 64 municipalities of Georgia.
Project aims to raise the electoral awareness of young people and promote the development of civic culture. Considering the electoral reform, within the framework of the updated program, students of XI-XII degrees will receive information about the modernization of elections and international practices in this direction, as well as the news of conducting the voting process with election technologies (devices) and election services introduced to the voters.
101 trainers trained by the Training Centre will ensure the implementation of the information-educational course in public schools. In order to discuss the importance of the role of the voter and the practical aspects of the voting process, students will have the opportunity to participate in a mock polling process.
The implementation of the nationwide project is planned for the period from February 12-29, 2024.
The project has been implemented since 2015 in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. Up to now, about 26000 pupils of XI-XII degrees of 1353 public schools located in 64 municipalities have passed the information-training program.
