The Central Election Commission of Georgia (CEC) and the LEPL Centre for Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Training (Training Center) have launched preparations for the certification exams of Election Administration officials.

The goal of certification is to determine the knowledge of electoral legislation and general skills of citizens of Georgia, in order to further facilitate the selection of highly qualified election administration officials.

This year, for the first time, certification exams for Election Administration officials will be held in 13 exam centers opened throughout Georgia. Citizens will be able to choose an examination centre operating in one of the listed municipalities: Tbilisi, Telavi, Rustavi, Mtskheta, Gori, Akhaltsikhe, Tkibuli, Kutaisi, Zestafoni, Ozurgeti, Senaki, Batumi.

The period of registration for the certification exam is November 21-27, 2023. During the mentioned period, the citizen will have the opportunity to register for the exam online or through the exam secretariats. The online registration link will be placed on the Training Centre website and will be activated on November 21 of this year. The addresses of exam centers and exam secretariats will be published on the same date.

The exams will start from December 4, 2023 and will be conducted with the tests (available in Georgian) updated by the Training Centre. Exam questions are approved by CEC Decree N136/2023 of June 13, 2023 and are used in unchanged manner in the certification process. For each examinee, 24 exam tests are automatically selected using the random selection method, the examinee must score 15 points to receive a certificate. The validity period of the certificate is determined by the period of 5 years after passing the exam.

The Training Centre also offers citizens the opportunity to take a free preparatory training course for the certification exam of Election Administration officials, which is based on the discussion and practical tasks of the tests determined by the examination program. In case of the desire to take the preparatory course, the citizen must additionally mark the relevant consent box in the electronic program of registration for the exam (November 21-27).
