The Centre for Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Training (Training Center) holds informational meetings with District Election Commissions (DEC).
Integrating electronic technologies in the voting process is a complex process - it requires the implementation of necessary information programs to transform voter behavior, as well as the development of professional skills of service provider election commissions. As the Chairman of the CEC Giorgi Kalandarishvili and the Director of the Training Centre Natia Zaalishvili noted, the CEC and the Training Centre are planning a cycle of working meetings with election administrators, which will help to introduce the novelties proposed by the reform and effective management the electronic devices in the voting process.
For this purpose, from March 27 to April 7 of the current year, the Training Centre is holding instructions for the members of 63 DEC (full composition), within the framework of which the participants will get aquatinted in detail the operation of special electronic devices for voter verification and vote counting in the election process.
According to the action plan, during April 18-25, the representatives of the Training Centre will also hold information meetings for the members of the 10 DECs involved in the extraordinary/by – elections (members elected for a 5-year term and appointed by parties for the election period). The instruction includes familiarization with the practical aspects of the functioning of devices and discussion of other issues to be implemented within the mandate of the District Election Commission.
