The Central Election Commission (CEC) and the Centre for Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Training (Training Center) continue active cooperation with Georgian higher education institutions. Within the framework of the partnership with the universities, the Training Center implements an authorial program in the field of electoral law every year, during the spring and autumn semesters.

The program is based on a modern training strategy - attention is paid to the improvement of students' theoretical knowledge and professional skills in practice. Students of the undergraduate program of the Faculty of Law, Social Sciences and Journalism will get acquainted in detail with issues related to elections, legislative news and international election practice. Young people will also receive information about the election services offered by the election administration and the technological innovations that have recently been implemented as a pilot in the election process.

Lecturers trained by the Training Centre will deliver the autumn semester training program at the universities. The training program responds to the strategic priority of the Election Administration and aims to strengthen the electoral culture among young people and to train field specialists of electoral law with the competence to meet modern requirements.

The 2022-2023 Autumn semester training for students of the undergraduate program of the Faculties of Law, Social Sciences and Journalism was carried out at Gori State Teaching Universityand and Guram Tavartkiladze's Tbilisi's Teaching University, 46 students participated in it; 145 undergraduate and graduate students of Alte University and Ilia State University Law School/Law School passed the program in the format of the legal clinic.

The CEC and the Training Centre have been actively cooperating with universities operating in Tbilisi and the regions since 2010. To date, about 7,200 students of partner universities have completed the training course.
