1 October 2022 Senaki Sakrebulo's (local council) by-election will be held using electronic technology, including synchronizing verification device. Today, the presentation of the mentioned device was held at the Central Election Commission (CEC). CEC officials and members, employees of the Training Centre and CEC office, attended the event.
As CEC chair, Giorgi Kalandarishvili noted, this novelty will further support the improvement of the electoral process.
“Senaki By-election is another opportunity for election administration to ensure piloting of technological means. Therefore, this election is no exception and we will have certain news in terms of electronic technology that refers to synchronizing verification devices. This is an additional new module which was prepared by an international vendor company at our request”, said Giorgi Kalandarishvili.
Synchronizing verification devices will be used during the Senaki by-election in all three polling stations. The voter will be able to go to any free registrar and go through the registration (verification) procedure, which in turn will reduce the queues of voters at the polling stations.
Members of the Senaki district and precinct commission will undergo the training on using synchronizing verification device from September 16.
