Considering the professional development policy of the election administration staff, Central Election Commission (CEC) and Centre for Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Training (Training Centre) are implementing an orientation-training program for the newly elected/appointed employees of Election Administration (employee of CEC Staff, DEC member, intern).
On June 7, 2022 orientation training was conducted for 16 employees of the CEC staff, who will carry out activities in the following structural units: Information-Analytical Division of the CEC Strategic Communications Department; Electoral Process Management Department; Legal Department; Coordination, Planning and Reporting Department; Clerical Work Division of the Office of the CEC Secretary.
In the framework of Orientation Training Course on “Election Administration and Election Procedures”, the Training Center employee discussed the following key issues with the participants: historical excurse of elections in Georgia; international models of election management bodies and the structure and powers of the election administration of Georgia; election cycle management and voting day; mandate of the election administration officer and Code of Ethics; the negative impact of disinformation and hate speech on electoral processes. Within the framework of the staff functional plan, the representative of the CEC Human Resources Management Department introduced the participants to the concept of labor relations management, internal normative acts (internal regulations) and the principles of organizational culture of the election administration.
Orientation-training programs promote the successful completion of the socialization process of newly appointed/elected employees, develop a corporate attitude and create a basis for achieving positive results in the professional activities of the employee.
