Trainings for the members of Precinct Election Commissions for October 2, 2021 Municipal Elections are underway

In accordance with the training concept elaborated by the CEC Training Center for the PEC members, IV stage is dedicated to the re-training of PEC head officials (chairperson, deputy chairperson, secretary).

As part of the intensive training program, participants will receive information on the following key issues within their competence:

• communication-coordination with the DEC (election documentation/inventory to be accepted for the election day; arranging of polling place; security of elections; compiling the list of mobile ballot box)
• organizational/supervisory functions of PEC head officials on the polling day (during the process of opening the polling station, polling, closing of the polling station and the counting of votes)
• rule of voting by voters (including the principle of expressing free will and secrecy of vote), issues of protection of personal data of voters
• regulations of photo-video shooting at the polling station, among them video fixation rule of the vote counting process
• techniques for compiling summary protocols of PEC polling results
• measures to ensure the compliance with the epidemiological protocol at the polling station

The training will be based on practical learning; it is provided to perform various thematic exercises.

The training process is being held in compliance with all recommendations related to the pandemic. The trainers re-trained by the Training Centre will provide IV stage trainings through the period of September 12 - 15. The schedule is available at the link (available in Georgian). III stage trainings for PEC members were conducted through the period of September 7 - 10, 2021. 14 451 members of 3633 PECs participated in it (Note: The data does not include statistics on the attendance of the PECs members in N4 Krtsanisi DEC (data will be processed separately within the pilot project)).
