On July 12th, at the Central Election Commission (CEC), the course was conducted about inclusive and accessible videos. The teaching, based on international standards and practices, was made possible by the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES). The participants of the online course were the employees of CEC, the Training Centre and the members of the special group working on the issues related to persons with disabilities.
The course covered the prevailing international standards and practices regarding the creation, usage, and distribution of educational videos. During the course, the inclusion of the professionals familiar with the issues faced by persons with disabilities was highlighted.
During the course, a video sample on the subject matter was presented. This was followed by the discussion about such issues as – the identification of inclusive and accessible material, and the creation of appropriate video content.
The course was conducted by Rebecca Aaberg, Inclusion Officer of the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES); and Lasanthi Daskon, the chief specialist of issues facing persons with disabilities.
