From March 2021, workshops are being held on the introduction of electronic technologies in the election process, initiated by political parties and with the technical support of the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES). At the suggestion of a special group working on these issues, a mock election was scheduled for June 12, 2021 at the CEC premises.
In order to train the members of the Precinct Election Commission created for the purposes of the above-mentioned pilot, the CEC and the Training Centre provided the relevant procedural training on June 10. Within the framework of the training program, the participants got acquainted in detail with the functions to be performed by the members of the Precinct Election Commission in the process of summarizing the voting results from the opening of the polling station, focusing on procedural and technological innovations introduced within the pilot.
In the training format, the target group participated in episodic staging of Election Day, which focused on practical training in the use of technological resources.
Imeda Kldiashvili, a member of a special group, and a representative of the political party "Girchi - More Freedom", provided additional information to the participants about the functioning of technological platform developed for the pilot at the initiative of the parties.
With the members of the Precinct Election Commission set up for the pilot purposes, representatives of local observer organizations and political parties attended the training as well (for detailed statistic follow the link).
