The Central Election Commission (CEC) prepared a report on the activities carried out in 2020 by Election Administration (EA) and Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Training Center (Training Center).
The report includes a description of the activities carried out in the period from January 1 to December 31, 2020.
Parliamentary Elections of Georgia were held in 2020 by Election Administration. All major challenges, including pandemic issues in particular, were considered in the process of organizing Parliamentary Elections (I and II round).
In response to new challenges, the EA has explored international experience, and made various rapid and effective decisions. As a result of collaboration with representatives of political parties, civil society and international organizations, an epidemiological protocol for Election Day was developed and the essential preventive measures were carried out in order to organize voting procedures.
Election Administration conducted a large-scale awareness raising campaign for voters both in Georgia and abroad; contributed to the improvement of the inclusive election environment. Also, educational programs were conducted for diverse target groups, etc.
The report provides detailed information on the activities carried out by the CEC and the Training Center to enhance confidence in the electoral process, promote a secure election environment, avoid cyber threats and strengthen the capacity of the EA.
