On October 23, 2020, within the cooperation between The Training Centre and Georgian Parliament Staff, the informational meeting on issues related to October 31, 2020 was held.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of Georgian Parliament Staff, who are to ensure the implementation of activities designated by protocol, for the members of international observer missions from foreign country parliamentary delegations and assemblies, observing elections in Georgia.
The meeting was held in online format. The Training Centre representative introduced the participants to the detailed information regarding the following topics: regulations related to holding elections in safe environment under pandemic; polling day procedures; professional aspects of Precinct Election Commissions members’ activities; powers of stakeholders, including international observers, during the polling process; mechanism to ensure realization of voters’ electoral rights (including, issues related to participation of those voters in elections, who are placed in medical facilities and are infected with COVID disease).
Seventeen representatives (among them, 14 women and 3 men) of Georgian Parliament Staff participated in the meeting.
The event was held within the Memorandum of Cooperation (signed on May 3, 2018) between the Training Centre and Georgian Parliament staff, which is aiming cooperation among parties around the current topics of shared interests through the implementation of joint teaching-educational projects, resource sharing and contributing to training highly competent staff.
