As part of the memorandum of cooperation with partner universities, the Training Center implemented an authorial electoral law program at 8 Universities during the 2019-2020 academic year spring semester.
370 students (239 female, 131 male) from Ilia State University, Grigol Robakidze University, Caucasus International University, Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University, Gori State Teaching University, Akaki Tsereteli State University and Samtskhe-Javakheti State University took the semestraial course.
As part of the program, bachelor’s students of the faculties of law, social sciencies and journalism were provided detailed information about national regulations related to elections and disussed international electoral practices. At the end of the accredited educational program, the students passed final exams through July 15, 2020.
Notably, pursuant to the WHO and the Government of Georgia recommendations, the academic program was adapted and the educational process was conducted via online platforms, due to the measures taken for the prevention of the spread of the COVID-19.
Another stage of the academic program in electoral law will commence for 2020-2021 academic year. The Training Center’s authorial program has been implemented since 2010. 6,003 students have taken the program to date.
